University Bytes began when, in the fall of 1992, two freshmen began a multi-million dollar company called Campus Computer. From it's humble beginnings, it eventually evolved into OpenFace — now one of the largest internet service providers in the Montreal area and employing over 40 people.
Six years later, in 1998, an opportunity to return to it's roots presented itself: the Student Society of McGill University (SSMU) sought to bring in a campus computer store that existed for the benefit of its students, and enlisted the help of the founders of Campus Computer. Thus, University Bytes was born, focusing on low prices and quality customer service. A donation of it's profits still go back to the SSMU every year(!)
Our company has seen a lot of growth in the last few years. We have become known as a quality store with knowledgeable employees who are ready to help with any computer problem. Please feel free to drop by and see for yourself!
